Sanriku International Art Festival 2024 will be held from September 2024 to March 2025. The concept of the festival is “Otozure(Japanese)” , “echoes(English)The following progrSanriku Sanriku International Art Festival 2024 will be held from September 2024 to March 2025. The following programs were held.

Otsuchi Future Geinoh Festival, Otsuchi Meeting for Geinoh Beginnings and Beyond
A geinoh performance will be held, focusing on the young performers who are responsible for the future of the Sanriku region. An exchange meeting will be held that includes a lecture on the Great Disaster by the Usuzawa Shishiodori Preservation Society of Otsuchi Town, and a geinoh and cultural food experience. This will be an opportunity for the young geinoh practitioners to stay locally, and discuss the future with one another. This meeting is open to the general public. Sanriku Geinoh Discovery Summit
Folk performing arts groups from all over the Sanriku coast and those invited from Taiwan will come together and perform outdoors. A headdress making workshop will be held by artist Vivienne Sato. There will be displays of the “Hachinohe Sanja Taisai” floats, which is said to have originated from Hachinohe. You can also experience the geinohʼs ohayashi festival music. Sanriku Geinoh Festival LINK 2024
Sanriku’s festivals showcase a wide variety of folk performing arts. The Sanriku International Arts Festival will present these festivals held throughout Sanriku between September 2024 and March 2025, along with tourist information and model courses. It will guide you on a journey to enjoy the magnificent nature of Sanriku, its unique food, culture and the geinoh that has been nurtured there locally.
