【5 days/4 nights】Tour across Sanriku to enjoy the Hashikami town’s Southern Geinoh Recital.

The final event of the "Sanriku International Arts Festival 2025 Nurture" Geinoh Festival in Sanriku will be the Hashikami town's Southern Geinoh Recital. Not only local Geinoh of Hashikami town, but also new dancers, cheerleaders, and other local Geinoh performers will come together to show their skills. This stage is a place where you can enjoy both performing and watching the arts! On the first day, come in from Tokyo to Hachinohe and go on signtseeing. On the second day, we will head to Hashikami town, take a walk along the Hashikami beach, enjoy a concert at a jazz cafe run by the priest of Terashita Kannon, and on the following day, see a presentation of Hashikami town's local Geinoh. To conclude the trip, we will take the Sanriku Railway southward to Sanriku and return home over the next two days. This is a trip to feel Sanriku today, seeing from the train windows the reconstruction efforts and the current status of the wildfire that broke out in February 2025.

It is a place where people come to do something fun in Hachinohe, to energize the city, and to participate in community development! The center of a group of citizens who want to have fun in Hachinohe, want to energize the city, and want to participate in city planning.
They are making Dashi decorations for the Hachinohe Sansha Festival (Grand festival of three shrines in Hachinohe), repairing sidewalks in downtown Hachinohe, etc. They look like they are having a lot of fun.

Sanriku Station is a station building overlooking Okirai Bay. The New Okirai Hills Café in New Okirai is a café run by local residents.

Shiome
A colorful and unique place that appears just outside Sanriku Station.
The building and objects are made from the remains and rubble and emergency stairs of the former Okirai Elementary School, where all the teachers and students survived from massive tsunami in 2011.
It also serves as a playground for children, a gathering place for local residents, and a resting place for hikers on the Michinoku Shiokaze Trail.

It is named “Shiome” meaning current rip, in the hope that it will become a place where people can interact with each other, just like a tide pool where many fish gather when ocean currents of different currents collide.

Takada Matsubara Reconstruction Memorial Park

This park was established to mourn and repose the souls of the victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake 2011, and to pass on the memories and lessons of the disaster to the next generation.
There are the remains of the earthquake, Miracle Pine Tree (now a monument), and a folklore facility exhibiting materials from the disaster.
It will be 15 years since the earthquake on March 11, 2026, and this is a must-visit place.
