A trip to enjoy Koshogatu in Noda Village, visiting the Jomon of the sea and the Jomon of the mountains.

Schedule1/14 (Wed) - 1/17 (Sat)
ItineraryTokyo → Miyako → Noda → Kuji → Ninohe/Ichinohe → Morioka → Tokyo
In Sanriku, there are many local Geinohs and events related to visiting gods, such as the Seven Gods of Good Fortune who come from the sea to bring good fortune, and Namomi, a god who looks like a demon and comes from the mountains. On January 15th, Koshogatu (first full moon), along with Dontoyaki, Mochi pounting, Shibadango or Mizukidango making, Noda village's local Geinoh Daikoku-mia and Namomi Taiko will be performed. In the evening, Namomi makes the rounds of each house, bringing a bountiful harvest, good health, and family safety. Our ancestors must have come from the outside in search of a comfortable place to live. This is a trip to enjoy the Koshogatu(first full moon) of Noda Village, while tracing the many remaining Jomon ruins in Sanriku and the inland area, and enjoying the taste of winter.
