Jodogahama, which is praised as being like the Pure Land of Paradise, is where many white meteoric rocks are compacted that form a unique landscape. Their beach is crowded with bathers in summer, but the quiet winter scenery is also recommended.

Dongdon-yaki, Dangoshiba (sticking rolled mochi on tree branch) making, and local Geinoh will be performed at the plaza in front of the town hall.
Get Noda’s specialty, Arakai scallops
Scallops in Noda Village grow up in the rough, stagnant ocean currents of the open sea, where the tides are clear and the water quality is clean.
The scallops from Noda, which have been tossed in rough seas and fed on plenty of tasty bait, are thick and plump with firm flesh!
Noda Village is also the only production area in Iwate Prefecture where shipments of Chuseigai clams (young, small clams with shells less than 9 cm in length) are permitted. Enjoy the soft, plump, sweet, and delicate taste unique to Chuseigai clams.

A view of the scenic Tofugatake, which was written in the poetry of the Heian aristocrats
Tofugatake, with its beautiful gentle arc coastline, has been written about and loved by the aristocrats of the Heian period (794-1185).
The reddish-purple stones (azuki sand) abound on this beach, further enhancing its elegance. Roadside Station Noda is named “Pa-puru (=purple)” because of the color of the sand.
Near the beach, there is a lovely “Hotatenbodai” (observatory) shaped like a scallop, where visitors can relax and enjoy the view.

Visit the gallery of a world-renowned potter from Noda Village
Ceramic artist Yukiya Izumita was born in Rikuzentakata City. After studying at the Kokuji Pottery, he began making pottery in Noda Village. Since then, he has received numerous awards at exhibitions and competitions. His work has been selected for the museum’s collection.

You can see all of Noda’s products in one place at Roadside Station Noda Pa-puru (=purple), which relocated and opened in June 2025.
The popular “Noda Salt Soft” (salt ice cream) is also recommended!
Watch “Namomi,” a Koshogatu event in Noda Village
Advance reservations are required to visit Namomi.
The tour will visit local’s homes in Noda Village.

Learn about the Jomon culture of the mountains at Goshono Jomon Park
A museum and park about the Jomon era (from 10,700 to 2,400 years ago)located at the Goshono site in Ichinohe town. Visitors can stroll through the park and learn about what the Jomon period’s villages was like.
Goshono Ruins is registered as a World Heritage Site in July 2021 as one of the constituent assets of the “Jomon Ruins of Hokkaido and the Northern Tohoku Region”.
