【Sanriku Festival】 Fudai Festival 2024.9.27(Fri)-29(Sun)

Large glittering floats called “Dashi”, handmade by the Kamigumi and Shimogumi groups, will parade through the center of the village (on the first and last days of the festival).
On the middle day, there will be a performance by local Geinoh groups, a premium stage show, and a Bon dance with prizes to be won at a special venue in front of the station, as well as fireworks at night.

Tourist Information

Nedari Beach (Benten Fishing Port) is located directly below Kurosaki Observation Deck. It’s 150-meter trail, named “Nedari Beach Nature Trail”, leading from Nedari Beach to Kurosaki Fishing Port. It has a nice senic path. You will also enjoy going through a hand-dug tunnel along the way in the trail.

Unotori shrine is widely worshipped along the Sanriku coast as a god of safety at sea and abundant catches of fish. Unotori Kagura, a nationally important folk cultural asset, is dedicated on the annual festival in May in this shrine, bringing many worshipers from inside and outside the village. It is also a popular power spot that is believed to bring good luck in marriage and childbirth.
