This project invites three photographers to the Sanriku coast in 2021, 10 years after the earthquake. The three photographers, who have had a unique relationship with Sanriku, will experience and capture the life, culture, and nature, among other things, in Sanriku from their own perspectives. Asada Masashi, who cleaned and returned damaged photographs from the earthquake and tsunami, as depicted in the movie “The Asada Family” released last year, will revisit Noda Village, the setting of the movie, to conduct new exchanges, special classes at elementary and junior high schools, and photography sessions. His photographs and video interviews will be exhibited in Sanriku Railway cars to show Sanriku from the artist’s point of view. In March, a live talk session titled “Sanriku by Three Photographers” (Asada Masashi, Ishikawa Naoki, and Tatsuki Masaru) will be held.
