末崎文化祭視察＠末崎中学校／大船渡市郷土芸能祭視察 ＠大船渡市リアス・ホール
Observation of Massaki’s Cultural Festival at Massaki Junior High School/ Observation of Ofunato City’s Local Folk Performing Arts Festival at Rias Hall in Ofunato City
朝の9時半から始まる「末崎町文化祭」を観に行く。地元出身の歌手「濱守栄子」さんの歌に始まり、昨日まで一緒だった末崎保育園のみんなによる「七福神」、そしてうわさの高校生舞踊家「さすけさん」まで、約3時間の間に全部で19の演目。すべてこの末崎地区の方々。一人だけストリートダンスの人が出ていたけど、ほかはすべて郷土芸能か、オリジナルな踊り。どれだけ芸能をやっている人がいるねんという感じ。どこでも芸能の話になると盛り…上がる。すごいなー。
We will go to see the “Massaki Cultural Festival,” which starts at 9:30 am. There are a total of 19 acts lasting about 3 hours, and it begins with a song by the local singer “Eiko Hamamori” and a performance of “Shichifukujin” by everyone at the nursery school whom we were with until yesterday, and then it ends with the much talked about high school dancer “Sasuke-san.” All of them are people from the Massaki area. There was only one person who did street dance, but everyone else either did local folk performing arts or their own original style of dancing. It was like “Just how many people here do folk arts?” Anywhere that people are talking about folk performing arts makes a lively conversation. Amazing.
続けて、リアスホールで行われている「大船渡市郷土芸能まつり」へ。こちらは各地区を代表して8演目。かなり力の入った団体ばかり。
Next, we went to the “Ofunato City Local Folk Performing Arts Festival” being held at Rias hall. There were 8 acts here representing each region. They were all groups with quite a lot of force behind them.
この時期各地区で文化祭や郷土芸能祭がおこなわれていて、なんか本当に別の国に来たみたいな感じ。郷土芸能人たちが衣裳をつけたまま、車にみんなで乗っていると、バリ島に行ったときに、ガムランの人たちがみんな衣裳をつけたまま、トラックの荷台にいっぱい乗っていたのを思い出した。日本のバリ島だ。
In this time period they have cultural festivals and local folk performing arts festivals in each region, and it’s really like being in another country. When I saw the performers of local performing arts all get in the car with their costumes on, it reminded me of when I went to Bali and saw all of the Gamelan players pile into the truck bed with their costumes on. It’s Japan’s Bali.
