RouteTokyo → Miyako → Yamada → Miyako → Morioka → Tokyo
Yamada-cho residents are such festival lovers that they are said to "return to Yamada town for the festival even if they do not come back home for the Bon and New Year's holidays." The Yamada town calendar revolves around this festival. Two shrine festivals, Yamada Hachimangu and Osugi Shrine, will be held in which portable shrines called Mikoshi with many Geinohs performers will parade through the town wishing people's happiness. Enjoy magnificent nature scenics in Sanriku along with the Yamada fall festival. On the 15th (Mon.), on the way back from Yamada festival spend a night in Morioka to see the Morioka Autumn Festival. Dashi, floats with a big picture, will be parading in the festival. This course is designed to enjoy the differences between festivals held inland and along the coast of Sanriku.
*The detailed time schedule for the Yamada Autumn Festival, including the Mikoshi procession and Yoimiya (the event held the night before festival ), has not yet been finalized. The course is designed according to last year's time schedule. We will update the course times as soon as this year's schedule is finalized.
