The Folk Performing Arts Club at Iwate Prefectural Kuzumaki High School was founded in 1996 to inherit the Kuzumaki Kagura. They not only perform at rituals, school festival, and other local events in Kuzumaki town, but also join Kagura Koshien (the annual gathering of high school kagura clubs) in Hiroshima prefecture and a cultural communication program in Kitanakagusuku village, Okinawa prefecture. The Kuzumaki Kagura belongs to the family of yamabushi (mountain hermit) kagura, known for its intensity and variety of dances, which is spread in the northern part of Iwate prefecture.
