Born in Aichi in 1982, Shiba won the prize at the Kishida Prize for Drama with his Waga Hoshi (Our Planet) in 2010. With no limitation of forms or sites, his activity as a theatre maker widely ranges from works at established theatres in Tokyo to shipboard performance in Kitakyushu, or, from shingeki (Western-style drama) to elementary school performance. Shiba wrote and directed a play Tetorapotto (Tetrapod), as a production of Kitakyushu Performing Arts Center in 2012. In 2014, he launched the “Drama Publication Project” to share his own scripts on the website of the theatre company.
