Madakobayashi was founded in 2014 by the former members of the Japanese drum team at College of Arts, Tamagawa University. Every performer of the group both dances and plays the drum. They appear in events and art festivals, and also give workshops, mainly in Tokyo. Loaded with spectacle, humor, and primitive energy, their vital pieces interlace the corporeality of drumming and the musicality of dancing bodies. Gawa, Maura, Sorezonaru, and DAN/DAN, among others, are in their own repertoire.
