A flea market-type Marche by people from Kesen region and also out side of Iwate. Artists of the Rikuzentakata AIR who also would experience Kesen culture will be having own booth. Asian foods will be served for your try.

Home Kitchen by Asian Kids “Let’s make a boxed lunch (BENTO)”

The workshop will end when all the stock has been finished.

A workshop by MOTTO, an art unit for children, in the aim of mutual understanding about Asian diverse cultures through the way making craft and its interactions. The children who are approved as “kids facilitator” will have a presentation and a workshop for other children in the Marche.

Two art programs take place in the exhibition: Document of DISPLACED: The RIKUZENTAKATA-MANILA Collaborative Art Project, which is an interdisciplinary cultural-arts research project focusing on post-disaster areas that a number of Rikuzentakata AIR residency artists have been developing together from Asian countries such as the Philippines, Thailand and Japan. The project showcases the outcomes of artists’ research that reveal sever situations of the Philippines under the natural disaster and urban poor communities. Along with it, Rikuzentakata AIR 2018 residency artists have a group exhibition, which showcase their art projects created from the one-month stay, inviting also a local painter ASUKA in Yokota.

Welcoming a photographer from Rikuzenkatata City Naoya Hatakeyama as guest speaker, the talk session seeks possibilities of art discussing with Rikuzentakata AIR residency artists in terms of its theme ART&LIFE. At the first half the residency artists explain about their art project in Rikuzentakata, and at the second half the talk session refers to the DISPLACED project and overall of Rikuzentakata AIR.
